Volunteers Spruce Up Yard at the Athens Area Humane Society
The project was one of three dozen included in the 10th Annual Athens MLK, Jr. Day of Service.
A team of about 20 smiling volunteers, gardening gloves in hand, showed up to the Monday morning to help with a three-hour landscaping project.
The service project was one of 37 organized by HandsOn Northeast Georgia for the .
Flowers and shrubs were planted around the road sign and added to brighten up a closed-off driveway. Weeds were removed from existing flowerbeds in the front yard and entrance of the building.
