Titans Ground Eagles

The boys and girls tennis teams swept East Jackson High on Tuesday at the Titan tennis courts. 

For the 7-2 Titans (4-0 in region play) Peter Bertran led the charge with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 1.  Ray Donovan took No.2 singles 6-1, 6-0, and senior Kerry Nozum blanked his opponent 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3.  At No. 1 doubles, the undefeated duo of senior Seth Taylor and Jeff Bautista held their opponents scoreless 6-0, 6-0.  The Eagles did not field a No. 2 doubles team.  

The North Oconee Lady Titans improved to 8-1 overall and 4-0 in Region 8-AA play by holding the East Jackson Lady Eagles scoreless.  At No. 1 singles Becca Bruning won 6-0, 6-0.  Amber Hudson and Mary Campbell Cobb followed suit at Nos. 2 and 3 singles respectively.  In doubles action Alex Barone and Abby Bruning took No. 1 6-1, 6-0, and at No. 2 Cammi Shaffer and Lana Livesay won 6-0, 6-1.  

The Titans host Athens Academy on March 20 at 4 p.m.
