Oconee Tennis Players Excel at Fall Tournament

The Hamilton Mill Tennis Academy Jr. Satellite was held in Dacula over the weekend.

Oconee County’s Charlotte Hudson won the girls 12 and under division at the Hamilton Mill Tennis Academy Jr. Satellite in Dacula Oct. 22-23. The 11-year-old 5th grader was the #1 seed and won three matches en route to the title.

Hudson defeated #2 seed Bailey McCammon of Sugar Hill 6-3, 6-1 in the championship match, and dropped only 10 games in the entire tournament. Hudson is a student of the Beck Tennis Academy.

Also at the same tournament, Aashal Dave, a freshman at , claimed the boys 14 and under championship. He, too, was the #1 seed and won all three of his matches.

Dave survived a scare in the semis, splitting sets and winning in a tiebreak, but cruised to a 6-2, 6-1 victory in the finals.
