Oconee County High Named A Top School
Oconee County High School ranked 420 out of 500 in Newsweek magazine's 2011 list of America's Best High Schools.
has earned national recognition after its inclusion in Newsweek Magazine's America's Best High Schools for the second year in a row.
The high school was ranked 420 out of 500.
"We're pretty excited about that," Oconee County Superintendent of Schools John Jackson said. "It's a nice honor."

Oconee County High was one of only 12 Georgia schools named one of America's Best in 2011.

- Graduation rate (25%)
- College matriculation rate (25%)
- AP tests taken per graduate (25%)
- Average SAT/ACT scores (10%)
- Average AP/IB/AICE scores (10%)
- AP courses offered (5%)
In 2010 the top 6 percent --or 1,600-- high schools in the nation were included. came in at number 1016 and Oconee County High School was ranked 1375.
North Oconee was included in the 2009 list at number 744 and was the 1078th top high school in the nation in 2008.
