Oconee Schools' Assistant Superintendent of Financial Operations Leaving
Randy Morrison's resignation was accepted by the Board of Education this week.
Update: In an article appearing in the Dec. 13 edition of The Oconee Enterprise, Randy Morrison said his resignation was the result of a personal decision to move to Tifton where his bride resides.
The Oconee County Board of Education Monday accepted the resignation of Randy Morrison, assistant superintendent for financial operations.
Following a work session, the Board met in an executive session to discuss personnel. Afterward, board members voted in an open meeting to approve a list of personnel recommendations, according to the minutes.

Morrison's resignation appears on that list. It indicates his final day will be June 30, 2013.
Morrison is out of town this week and should be available for an interview next week, Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources Dr. Brook Whitmire said.

The Oconee Enterprise reports Morrison has held the position for eight years. He previously served as an assistant principal and a teacher in the county, according to the newspaper.
