Williams Looking Forward to Special Session

Rep. Chuck Williams of the 113th House District in Georgia says he's ready to discuss redistricting.

A special session of the Georgia legislature that will focus on redistricting got underway Monday morning at the State Capitol in Atlanta.

Using data collected by the U.S. Census Bureau,  voting districts are redrawn every 10 years.

Oconee County , according to the proposals.  Presently all of Oconee County votes in the 113th District represented by (R-Watkinsville).

Williams said in an email to Oconee Patch on Sunday he was ready for the session to begin to discuss the ongoing redistricting process.

"I look forward to continuing to represent the current 113th House District between now and the effective date of any changes in House District lines," he wrote.
