Early Voting for Run-off to Start July 5

Oconee County registered voters may cast their ballots for the next state representative from July 5 through July 15 in advance of the July 19 run-off election.

The run-off election to fill the vacant 113th District House seat is a little more than three weeks away, but come Tuesday registered voters in Oconee County may begin selecting their choice for state representative.

Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp announced Tuesday that he had certified results of the June 21 Special Election. are each hoping to garner enough votes to propel them to the gold dome.

Early voting begins Tuesday, July 5 and runs through Friday, July 15 at the Oconee Board of Elections Office weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., chair Pat Hayes said

Citizens who met the May 23 registration deadline for the June 21 special election may cast ballots, even if they did not vote in the Special Election. 

On Election Day July 19, voters should report to their assigned precincts. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. that day.

The 113th House District includes all of Oconee, Southern Clarke, and portions of Oglethorpe and Morgan counties.
