Watkinsville Police: Woman Claims She Was Nearly Run Over After Christmas Parade

The following information was supplied by the Watkinsville police department.

The last Saturday and, for the most part, went off without a hitch.

After the parade, however, officers were called to Barnett Shoals Road to settle a dispute.

According to Chief Lee O'Dillon, a woman from Oliver Bridge Road accused a Bogart woman of attempting to run her over with a Honda Civic. Heated words were exchanged but no one was injured, he said.

Also in his weekly news release, O'Dillon said police were called to a Pecan Bluff residence Sunday evening after a 15-year-old had become combative with family members. The youth fled the residence but was located a short distance away.Β  Due to on-going problems, an ambulance was called and the boy was taken to Athens Regional Medical Center for an evaluation, he reported.

Police responded to a total of 33 calls within city limits between Monday, Nov. 28 and Sunday, Dec. 4.
