Watkinsville Police Break Up Shouting Match

The following information was supplied by the Watkinsville, Ga., Police Department.

Police were called to a domestic argument at a Christian Terrace address on Wednesday, May 9 around 7 p.m.. A man and his estranged wife were having a shouting match outside. Watkinsville Police Chief Lee O'Dillon reported the woman agreed to leave the property and return to where she had been staying.

In his weekly news release, O'Dillon recapped some of the other incidents that police responded to during the week ending on May 13:

  • On Wednesday, May 9 at 6:55 p.m., police responded to a minor traffic accident at the Town Center complex. A 1998 Buick LeSabre was bumped  by a 1996 Plymouth Neon. Neither driver was injured. A Watkinsville woman, 22, was charged with driving on a suspended license.
  • Police and an Oconee County Department Of Family And Children Services case worker responded to a domestic situation at a Cedar Hill Circle address on Saturday, May 12 around 7:30.  A 31-year-old man agreed to leave the residence after a day-long argument. The safety and welfare of the children living there was a primary concern.
  • Late Sunday night, May 13, the driver of a 2009 Toyota Camry was traveling on South Main Street at New High Shoals Road when a large deer ran into the path of the car. The 21-yea- old driver from Valdosta was not injured but the car was damaged considerably.

Watkinsville police responded to a total of 29 calls within city limits between Monday, May 7 through Sunday, May 13.
