Watkinsville Police Blotter: Woman Reports Harassing Phone Calls on Christmas Eve

The following information was supplied by the Watkinsville Police Department.

In his weekly news release, Chief Lee O'Dillon recapped some of the incidents that police responded to during the week ending Dec. 25.

  • At 9:05 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, police were called to Ga. Highway 15 at Hartwell Railroad after the driver of a 2000 Ford F-350 struck the back of a 2005 Infiniti FX-35. No one was injured. A 40-year-old Clayton man was charged with DUI and following too closely. After his truck was towed away, the man was booked and later released after posting bond.
  • On Christmas Eve, police took a report of a 32-year-old Statham man making harassing telephone calls to a woman on VFW Drive. Charges are pending and the phone company is assisting with the investigation.

Watkinsville police responded to a total of 28 calls within city limits between Monday, Dec. 19 and Sunday, Dec. 25.
