Watkinsville PD Blotter

The following information was supplied by the Watkinsville police department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

In his weekly news release, Watkinsville Police Chief Lee O'Dillon recapped some of the incidents that police responded to during the week ending July 31.

  • An early morning traffic stop on Main Street on July 30 netted an arrest. Sean Paul Smedley, 20, of Calls Creek Drive, was charged with DUI and speeding.
  • A resident of a 100 block McRee Street address notified police of a suspicious person running from his property toward Ga. 15 around 2 a.m. on July 30. Nothing appeared to be missing.
  • Officers responded to a domestic situation at a Thrasher Drive residence on the evening of July 28. A 30-year-old man was taken to Athens Regional Medical Center for an evaluation and released Friday.

Watkinsville police responded to a total of 30 calls within city limits between Monday, July 25 and Sunday, July 31.
