Traffic Accidents, One Involving a Deer, in Watkinsville
News from the Watkinsville Police Department.
At 8:41 Monday morning, December 9th, a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 was bumped from behind by a 2004 Ford F-150 on Industrial Boulevard. Neither driver was injured. Carmine Costello, 43, of Arnoldsville, was charged with FOLLOWING TOO CLOSELY.
As the rain continued on Monday, at 4:16pm, a 2007 Mercedes was struck from behind by a 1998 Nissan Sentra on Main Street, at Third Street, in downtown Watkinsville. Neither driver was injured. Both vehicles suffered minor damage. A 16-year-old Oconee County resident was charged with FOLLOWING TOO CLOSELY.
At lunch-time Thursday December 12th, a 2004 Dodge Durango backed into a parked 2009 Jeep Patriot at the Oconee County DFCS office, 1400 Greensboro Highway. No one was injured. Only minor damage was listed.

Thursday the 12th at 6 pm, a deer ran into the side of a 2000 Nissan Frontier on Experiment Station Road at Water Street. The 75-year-old driver was not injured and the deer ran away. The drivers side of the truck was badly damaged.
At 8pm Saturday, police were called to a Harden Hill Road address to an on-going domestic situation. One person was accusing another of violating a Temporary Protective Order. The alleged offender was no longer at the address when police arrived. Charges may be forthcoming.
