Vacant Mobile Home in Bogart Consumed by Fire

Firefighters contained the blaze around the mobile home off of Atlanta Highway near Osceola Avenue and let it burn itself out Monday night, Fire Chief Bruce Thaxton reported.

An abandoned mobile home off of Atlanta Highway near Osceola Avenue in Bogart that caught on fire Monday night is a "complete structure loss," according to authorities with the .

A passerby had spotted the flames and called 911, Oconee County Fire Chief Bruce Thaxton reported, adding that the fire was fully involved when the 30 firefighters arrived on the scene.

Firefighters contained the blaze around the mobile home and let it burn itself out, he said.

The cause of the fire is unknown, Thaxton said. There were no injuries.

Traffic was diverted from the area for over an hour starting around 7:45 p.m., a Nixle alert noted. By 8:57 p.m., Atlanta Highway was open to traffic.
