UGA Loses Offensive Lineman -- Athens-Clarke County Patch

UGA loses Offensive lineman Chester Brown after an immigration ruling. Based on a ruling by The Board of Regents, high school students without proper documentation can not attend UGA, Tech, Georgia State, Georgia College & State University or the Georgia Health Sciences. Though the University Council and the Student Government Association came out in opposition to the ruling, UGA was unsuccessful in repealing the policy. Chester Brown, of Hinesville, has withdrawn his UGA commitment.

Man brandishes gun in road rage incident. A man claimed that a driver pulled a gun on him after a cut-off incident on the highway earlier this month. According to the police report, the 48-year-old man from Auburn, Ga., was driving southbound on I-85 around 3:45 p.m. on Jan. 13 in the far right lane near the Beaver Ruin exit when a white 2012 Cadillac attempted to get off the exit. The driver of the Cadillac changed his mind, though, and cut off the Auburn man in order to continue on I-85. The man changed and the Cadillac followed suit.

The man in the Cadillac then pulled up next to the victim, rolled down his window and displayed a silver pistol; the victim then slammed on his brakes and followed him for a while and lost sight of him. He was able to give the tag number to police.
