Oconee Parent Offers $2,000 Reward for Return of Son's Stolen Dirt Bike

A half-page ad in this week's Oconee Leader states the reward is also "for the conviction of the lazy, sorry, selfish, lowlife, inconsiderate poor soul or souls who took his bike."

An Oconee County parent has taken the unusual step of placing an ad in a local newspaper offering a $2,000 reward for the return of his son's stolen dirt bike.

According to an Oconee County Sheriff's Office incident report, the dirt bike was taken from outside of a residence in the 2000 block of Malcom Bridge Road sometime between 1 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Jan. 5. The bike's 11-year-old owner had been visiting a friend, and no one heard or saw anything suspicious during the night, the report noted.

The bike has unique markings, including a decal bearing this Bible verse in block letters: "MATTHEW 19:26- WITH GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE."

"I pray for this lost soul that he might one day learn that when you work hard for something that is when you accomplish things in life," the ad in the Oconee Leader states. "I am offering a reward of $2,000 for information that will lead to the return of this 2008 KTM dirt bike and for the conviction of the lazy, sorry, selfish, lowlife, inconsiderate poor soul or souls who took his bike."
