Many Failed Attempts at Shoplifting along Epps Bridge Parkway

The information in this story comes from the Oconee County Sheriff's Office. An arrest isn't the same thing as a conviction.

On November 29, at 11:30am, an Oconee County Sheriff's deputy went to Marshall's. There, he found a 21-year-old woman from Roswell who said that someone had taken her iPhone 5 from the women's bathroom. She had left it on the sink when it disappeared.

On November 29, close to 8pm, an Oconee County Sheriff's deputy was called to Walmart. There he found Shaquira Alexus McGrath, 19, of Kennesaw, who had allegedly tried to take $85 in cosmetics from the store without paying for them. She didn't succeed. She was charged with misdemeanor shoplifting and taken to the Oconee County Jail.

At 8:30pm on November 29, Timothy J. Eubanks, 31, and Samantha Diane Mathis, 29, both of Winder, were arrested at Kohl's for theft by shoplifting.

On December 1, at 6:58pm, two men stole $180 worth of electronics and jewelry from Kohl's and fled the store. The loss prevention officer ran after the two thieves but lost them near Ryan's. The two stole three Bluetooth speakers, valued at $50 each, and 1 man's bracelet, valued at $30.

On December 2, at 8:24pm, Lorrie P. Fortson, 45, of Athens, was arrested at Walmart by Oconee County Sheriff's deputies for misdemeanor shoplifting. She was seen putting in her purse hair items (a comb and brush), perfume and deodorant and donning a black cardigan. She then tried to exit the store with these items but didn't succeed.
