Man Accused of Threatening Another Man with Pistol Gives False Name to Deputies

The 42-year-old has also been charged with public drunkenness in Oconee County. An arrest isn't a conviction.

A 42-year-old resident of Pinewood Estates South Mobile Home Park on Epps Bridge Road in Oconee County is accused of threatening another male resident of the park by pointing a pistol at him and saying, "you be died today."

According to an incident report, Oconee County Sheriff's deputies were called to the scene around 3 p.m. on Tuesday, July 9, where the 38-year-old victim recounted that he had been standing in his front yard with a friend when "Leo Vesora" came over to them carrying a pack of beer.

The victim told deputies that Vesora reached into a black bag, pulled out a pistol and pointed it in his direction.  Fearing for his life, the victim said he retreated and Vesora put the pistol back in the bag.

About 10 minutes later, the victim recalled hearing a single gunshot come from the direction of his home.

Deputies found Vesora in one of the mobile homes sitting in a living room chair. He reportedly reached into a black bag and again pulled out the pistol.

After repeated verbal commands ordering Vesora to drop the gun and raise his hands, deputies say Vesora stood up and complied.  Six .22 caliber bullets were recovered from his pants pocket and were seized as evidence along with the pistol and black bag.

Vesora was arrested, but a check of his fingerprints later at the jail revealed his actual name to be Leonardo Rodriguez Uriostenni.

Along with the charge of giving a false name, Uriostenni was charged with public drunkenness, pointing a pistol at another person and carrying a pistol without a license.

Another man inside of the mobile home, Milton O. Carrasco, 30, was taken into custody to await transfer to the Madison County Sheriff's Office on an outstanding probation violation warrant.
