Crime Report: Aggravated Assault, Multiple Burglaries and Thefts

The following information was gathered from Oconee County Sheriff's Office reports and highlights incidents reported Oct. 3- Oct. 9.

Car Entry: A unlocked car parked at a 1900 block address of Lane Creek Road was entered on Oct. 3 between 10-11 p.m.  A purse and wallet were stolen.

Theft: On Oct. 3, a cell phone and Otterbox case valued at $250 was reported stolen from an classroom.  The victim told deputies the theft occurred on Sept. 30 between 3-3:30 p.m.

Identity Theft: A Bogart woman reported last week that someone opened a fraudulent account for phone service using her middle and last name and address.  She told deputies she discovered the identity theft when a bill arrived in the amount of $186.28.  The account had been opened on Sept. 24 with a different date of birth and driver's license number.  Investigators are checking on two cell phone numbers associated with the account.

Burglary: A burglar entered a home on 1300 block Malcom Bridge Road sometime between noon on Sept. 30 and 11:30 a.m. on Oct. 4 and removed a .22 caliber Savage bolt action rifle valued at $120.  Deputies discovered a southeast window of the home was broken.  No fingerprints were found at the scene.

Theft: A silver iPhone and purple case were reportedly taken from a desk in a school room at between 12:45 p.m. and 1:45 p.m. on Oct. 4.

Burglary: A 60" flat screen Sharp television was stolen from a 1200 block address of Crooked Creek Road on Oct. 5.  The burglary happened between 6:55- 9:12 p.m.  A back door window had been broken into, deputies noted. No other items were reported missing.

Theft: All four black chrome 22" diameter wheels and tires valued at $1,435 were removed from a 2007 Toyota 4Runner sometime between 12:30 a.m. on Oct. 6 and 7:15 a.m. on Oct. 7 where it had been parked at a 1200 block address of Blackstone Highway.  The SUV was left on cinder blocks.   

Criminal Trespass: Around 9 p.m. on Oct. 5, a resident of a 8100 block address of Hog Mountain Road said she heard a noise in the back of her home and later found a back door window had been broken.  Deputies report finding a hole in the outer pane and a chip in the inner pane of the double paned window.  The next day, deputies returned to the same address where the resident of the home reported hearing something in the woods.  A male friend told deputies he shot a BB gun at the ground next to a tree to scare off what ever was making the noise.  A few moments later, the friend said a neighbor began shooting a BB gun the home.  The neighbor told deputies he had been doing yard work when he was shot at with the BB gun, so he got his BB gun and fired back.  The neighbor was issued a notice of prohibited entry for the woman's yard for two years, deputies noted.

Aggravated assault: A man was arrested after a domestic dispute at a Timber Mill Run address on Oct. 4.  A woman told deputies she and her boyfriend had a verbal argument, he pinned her down, attempted a sexual assault, and broke her cell phone when she tried to make a call to 911.  Deputies reported the woman's arms were bruised and there were visible fingernail marks on her skin. 

Guy Gregory Robinson, 38, was arrested was charged with aggravated assault, criminal trespass, and interference will a 911 call.

An arrest does not mean a conviction.

Theft: An Oconee County church reported five outside air conditioning units valued at $7,000 stolen over the weekend. See

Burglary: Someone entered an unlocked building in the 1400 block of Sikes Road sometime between 3 a.m. on Oct. 1 and 2 p.m. on Oct. 7 and removed a black metal case and silver synthesizer keyboard from a band's practice area.
