Citizen Tip Leads to Arrests in Theft of Landscaping Equipment

Three suspects are facing charges.

Three suspects — two adults and a juvenile — were arrested Monday afternoon and are accused of stealing landscaping equipment off a truck sitting in the Zaxby's parking lot. 

According to a post on the Oconee County Sheriff's Office Facebook page, a customer at Dairy Queen saw a car stop next to the truck. One of the vehicle's occupants reportedly got out and grabbed several pieces of equipment, and the citizen immediately notified authorities. 

Law enforcement with the sheriff's office and the Watkinsville Police Department stopped a vehicle matching the description given by the witness a short time later. According to the post, the stolen equipment was found at a nearby residence and the three occupants of the vehicle are facing charges.

The two adults were identified as Tareze D. Hillsman, 19, and Marquavious Parks, 18. The juvenile's name is not be released.
