Budge Williams Headed to Federal Prison on Child Porn Charges
The former local newspaper columnist was on probation at the time of the arrest for a conviction of a weapons violation.
Budge Earl Williams, a 71-year-old Vietnam vet, has been sentenced to federal prison for possessing child pornography and violating his probation, according to a story in the Athens Banner Herald.
Williams was arrested last August after staff at the Oconee County Library told Watkinsville Police they saw him downloading and printing out images of young boys being sexually exploited.

That activity was in violation of the terms of his probation for a federal weapons violation conviction, which forbade him having access to the Internet or possessing sexually explicit material.
In early May 2013, Williams was sentenced to 10 months in a federal detention facility, the story says.
