Wallet Snatched from Unlocked Car at Herman C. Michael Park

At least five reports of entered autos were filed at the Oconee County Sheriff's Office since Thursday.

Oconee County Sheriff's deputies investigated the following reports of entered autos April 18 -21:

  • Between 7 p.m. on April 19 and 9 a.m. on April 20, someone entered two vehicles parked in the 1100 block of Lake Pointe Drive and nabbed a GPS unit and a cell phone.
  • An unlocked 2002 Honda Accord parked in the driveway of a residence in the 1400 block of Harperfield Drive was entered sometime between 9 p.m. on April 19 and 8 a.m. on April 20.  A pair of Nike shoes and about $10 in quarters was missing.
  • On April 19, a deputy met with a resident of the 1100 block of Spartan Lane.  He said someone had removed a brown leather backpack containing an iPad and an iPhone.  It happened between 9 p.m. on April 18 and 8 a.m. on April 19.
  • A resident of the 1100 block of Lake Wellbrook Drive reported his 2006 Toyota Tundra was entered between 7:30 p.m. on April 18 and 9:15 a.m. on April 19.  He said he usually locks his vehicle, but no signs of forced entry were found.  A GPS unit was missing from the dash.
  • A victim reported he left his wallet inside an unlocked car at Herman C. Michael Park while he and a friend played Frisbee golf on April 18 from 3-4 p.m.  When they returned, the wallet was gone.
