Authorities Investigate Shooting on Watson Springs Road
One man was being treated at Athens Regional Medical Center Sunday for a single gunshot wound to the abdomen, according to officials with the Oconee County Sheriff's Office.
are investigating a Sunday evening shooting in the 1100 block of Watson Springs Road that sent one man to Athens Regional Medical Center, authorities reported.
According to a series of Nixle alerts, one man shot a single round that struck another man once in the abdomen during an altercation around 8 p.m. The injured man was in surgery around 10 p.m., according to the advisory.
The shooter and witnesses were cooperating with authorities and no arrests had been made, the alert stated.
