Oconee Farmers Market Hosts Fields of Promise Dinner

By Elizabeth Poland

In an effort to "cultivate our future farmers," the Oconee Farmers Market is planning to host its first-annual Fields of Promise dinner as a scholarship fundraising event for the Oconee County Future Farmers of America.

The dinner will be on Saturday, August 24 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Thomas' Cotton Gin

The dinner is a part of the market's effort to encourage and build the love of agriculture and community to future generations. The dinner will feature local chefs, local farmers and live music!

Tickets are $25 alone or $60 for a family rate (two adults and two kids). Tickets are available at the Oconee Farmers Market each Saturday from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Courthouse in downtown Watkinsville and on Tuesday from 4 until 7 p.m. at the Watkinsville First Christian Church.

For any questions about tickets or sponsorship opportunities, please contact Annie Kennedy (706) 206 7105 or Cindy Pritchard (706) 206 5094.
