Health & Fitness

I have no time to work out!

This is a common concern for many people. How can we overcome this?

I have no time to work out!

As a Fitness Instructor I hear this often.

The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.

As Christians we can sometimes focus only on our spirituality and not our physical fitness. Or we get so obsessed with our physical self and how we look that fitness becomes our God. We need to find a balance, a happy place in between the rushing of life, our time with God, and our physical fitness.  For me personally my physical fitness was never important enough until I allowed God into it, He wants to be in every area of our lives. So if you walk on the treadmill at the gym, pray. If you’re out running in nature, praise Him for all you see. Praise Him for giving you the ability to move your body. We glorify Him with our bodies, 1 Corinthians 6:19-20.

Life gets busy and we have to pick and choose what is important enough to warrant our time. It happens in my life too. Staying fit and healthy is honoring God and in my life fitness needs to remain an important part of my daily routine.  If your life is just too busy to fit in a workout you’re too busy. Our lives weren’t meant to be too rushed or to neglect our bodies. Pray about how God can help you make time in your schedule for fitness.  God needs to be first in our lives as it says in Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
