The Sheriff's Office is looking to fill a full-time position.

Description: Applications are currently being accepted for a full-time deputy sheriff position. 

Minimum qualifications: High school diploma or GED; supplemented by vocational/technical training in security, law enforcement, or a related field; supplemented by five (5) to eleven (11) months previous experience and/or training involving security, as a law enforcement patrol officer, or related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must possess a valid Georgia driver's license. Must be at least 21 years of age. Must be a U.S. Citizen or resident status. Must have and maintain current Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) certification requirements as a law enforcement officer. Must be licensed and qualified to operate a firearm.

How to Apply: Submit applications from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Oconee County Board of Commissioners' Human Resources Office at 23 North Main Street (Oconee County Courthouse), Room 203.  Applications may be downloaded online.  Applicants must include an Authorization to Release Information on Driving History form.
