A Day of Service, MLK Day 2011

A Day of Service will bring hundreds of volunteers to Athens through Hands on Northeast Georgia, a part of Community Connection of Northeast Georgia. People will meet at the historic Morton Theatre for breakfast before 9 a.m. Please bring canned goods to donate to the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia.  At 9:30, people will return to their parked cars (in the lots near the Council on Aging or the Hull Street lot on the UGA campus) and then go to their selected volunteer site. Projects range from cleaning up along streams to painting to spreading mulch. Once volunteers have finished their projects and returned their tools and materials to the site leaders, they are free to go. Volunteers can register for different projects at www.handsonnortheastgeorgia.org
