Celebrating the History of the Founders Memorial Garden

The Founders Memorial Garden (FMG) - which was, at the time of its creation, the largest project undertaken by any state garden club -- celebrates its 75th Anniversary in 2014.  The FMG is recognized as a major influence on the creation of the landscape quality that now characterizes the UGA campus.  John Waters, a Professor in the Historic Preservation Graduate Program at the UGA College of Environment and Design, will discuss the varied and extensive activities to commemorate the FMG's Diamond Jubilee.  This program is co-sponsored by the Athens Historical Society and the Athens-Clarke County Library Heritage Room.  The meeting will be held in the Appleton Auditorium. The Public is invited.  Handicap Accessible.
