Tornado Watch Issued for Oconee County
The National Weather Service's watch is in effect until 9 p.m.
Oconee is one of 82 Georgia counties under a tornado watch until 9 p.m.
The National Weather Service of Peachtree City issued the watch just after 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.
A cold front moving through the area has the capability of producing scattered thunderstorms and the chance of tornadoes, according to a hazardous weather outlook. Lightning and damaging winds are primary hazards associated with the storms.
