A Woodstock man is at the  after witnesses told authorities that he threatened to "shoot up" the  on Monday.

Charles Cormier Clifford, 59, was arrested at his home on a charge of terroristic threats. Police said Clifford threatened to “shoot up the place” after he was denied a business license.

He is being held at the county jail without bond.

According to a press release from the ACC Police, a case of rabies has been confirmed in Clarke County. The state Department of Public Health confirmed that a raccoon found near Athens-Ben Epps Airport had rabies.

The animal was sent on Feb. 22 to the state public health laboratory for testing, which turned out to be positive.

Police urge people to be very cautious around raccoons, and all wild animals.

A burglar who targeted in Winder caused approximately $1,000 in damage and got away with only change.

A deputy was dispatched to the business March 1, 2012, where one of the front double doors had been smashed in with a rock.

The business's manager said the only thing missing inside was a cash tray with approximately $5 in change in it. A vehicle parked a few spaces from the front door the business was also damaged.
