Regional Roundup: Bacterial Infection Claims Life of Decatur Woman, Frozen Fetus Investigation Ends, and Chocolate Milk Ban Proposed

, wife of South Gwinnett math teacher Mark Rinehart, passed away Wednesday morning at 4:15 a.m.

"She is celebrating," Mark wrote on a Facebook page in her honor, "and I am thankful for God allowing me to have the privilege of being her husband while she was here on this Earth. Family was present, and when Hannah was ready to go, she left quickly."

Hannah, 32, was a patient care technician in DeKalb County. She and Mark lived in Decatur. 

the last weekend of June which resulted in blood poisoning. Complications led to the amputations of both hands and feet, but the biggest challenge was fluid in her lungs. Yesterday, doctors told the family that she was very, very tired.

"Thank you for loving her," wrote David Johnson, Hannah's brother, on Facebook. "She knows perfectly now what she always believed in faith. Jesus is the One and Only True and Living God."

Authorities have completed an investigation into a fetus discovered in a freezer in an Alpharetta townhome this summer.

"Based upon the findings of the investigation, no charges will be filed against anyone involved in this case," said George Gordon, spokesperson for the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety.

In his news release, Gordon said that after an exhaustive investigation, police determined the mother had a miscarriage in the second trimester of the pregnancy. A lack of money caused her next action.

A City Schools of Decatur committee that studied lunchroom nutrition is recommending that chocolate milk be eliminated for students in kindergarten through third grade and phased out for other grades.

Committee, formed last spring to make school menus healthier, made 10 recommendations of items for removal or change.
