Authorities Release Video of Incident in Which School Board Member Is Accused of Striking Teen With Her Vehicle - Cartersville Patch

Bartow County authorities have released the Walmart security video that shows a Bartow County Schools board member drive her SUV towards a teen who was trying to save a parking spot.

Angela "Angie" Gail Cornett, 41, who serves as District 3 representative and vice chairman, is accused of accelerating her Lexus and hitting the girl's right leg with the front, passenger tire of the vehicle during a dispute about the parking space.

"From watching the video, it's obvious the pedestrian was standing there when the vehicle lurched forward and has to move out of the way very quickly," Sgt. Jonathan Rogers said. "You can't tell close how she was struck or exactly how hard she was struck, but you can see that she was standing there when the vehicle lurched forward and had to move out of the way quickly."
