Oconee Today -- March 10

Remember to set your clocks ahead one hour before you go to sleep tonight!

The weekend starts out with sunny skies and highs in the mid 60s.  The Weather Channel predicts winds ENE at 10-15 mph. Clear skies are expected overnight with lows in the upper 30s.

Top things to know:

  • Bring the entire family to the State Botanical Garden to learn about exotic birds and reptiles.  The program, featuring Roy Hodge of Exotic Paradise in Atlanta lasts from 10-11:30 a.m. General admissions are $5 per person, $20 per family or free for children under the age of 2.
  • Kids of all ages are invited to a free at the Oconee County Library this morning starting at 11.
  • The Oconee County High School varsity soccer teams play host to Riverwood at 2 p.m. Come out and cheer on the Warriors! Tickets are $5.
  • Daylight Saving Time officially begins at 2 a.m. on Sunday when we "spring ahead" one hour.  Remember to change the clock before hitting the hay and take a moment to check the battery in your smoke detectors, too.
