Oconee Today -- June 9

Much-needed rain fell yesterday. It looks like there's another chance for precipitation in the form of isolated thunderstorms today.

1. Isolated thunderstorms are possible today, mainly after 6 p.m.  High temperatures will be in the mid to upper 90s, according to the Weather Channel's forecast. Overnight lows will hover near 70 degrees.

2. at the Georgia Square Mall is holding two free play dates.  Kids 3 and up are invited to create tissue paper art from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. and from 6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

3. Senior citizens can beat the heat by scooping up some homemade ice cream on the patio of the .  A computer class is also on the activities calendar for today. Call 706-769-3979 for times and information about becoming a member.

4. Several new camps have been added to the Oconee County Parks and Recreation Department's summer lineup.  This week's highlights the lacrosse camp available later this month.  To find out about other camps that still have openings, check out the OCPRD's registration web page.

5. A Summer Youth Job Fair will take place from 3:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Goodwill of North Georgia located at 1502 Pleasant Hill Road in Duluth.  Participants should arrive in business attire and bring copies of their resumes.
