Local libraries are offering free events for children and teens today. See what else there is to know.

1. Today's forecast calls for partly cloudy skies and a high temperature of 99 degrees.  Overnight lows will be in the low 70s.

2. Week 4 of National Safety Month aims to educate on how to prevent slips, trips, and falls.  Falls in the United States account for about 8.6 million visits to the emergency room, according to the National Safety Council.

3. hosts a screening of the PG-rated film "Legend of the Guardians" at 3 p.m.  Snacks will be provided.

4. Teens are invited to spend an evening learning how to prepare a traditional Indian food dish at the next class in a series of at the Oconee County Library.  It's free from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. for teens ages 11-18.

5. The is holding a public hearing about the proposed 2012 fiscal year budget at 7 p.m. The regular monthly meeting will follow at 7:30 p.m.
