Birdies for Burns golf tournament raises money for the Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation. See what else is happening in and around Oconee today.

1.  A 30 percent chance of isolated thunderstorms is in today's forecast.  Highs once again will climb into the upper 90s.  Look for overnight lows in the low 70s.

2. Teams tee off at 2:30 p.m. at the Birdies for Burns golf tournament at to raise money for Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation and the Oconee County State Firefighter Competition Team.   The planned the event.

A fun and innovative way to encourage your child's love of reading is to schedule a time slot for the Oconee County Library's program.  Kindergartners through fifth graders will enjoy reading aloud to a dog. Parents can register their child for a 15-minute session.  The program runs from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m.

5. Tonight's Oconee County Chamber of Commerce's event will be held the Reliant Homes office at 1022 Club Estates Way in Statham.  It takes place from 5:15 p.m. -7:15 p.m.
