Oconee Today -- July 25

The weather, yoga, and an action movie are all things to know about today.

Weather: There's a 70 percent chance of thunderstorms today.  Some sunshine is also in the forecast and highs are predicted to be in the low to mid 90s with a heat index of over 100.

Top Things to Know About Today:

  • Do you love to cook?  If so, today is a special day for you!  It's Culinarians Day. How do you plan to celebrate? Maybe share one of your favorite recipes in the comments section!
  • Christmas in July: is collecting toy donations for Operation Christmas Child through weekly yoga classes on Fridays.  The class is held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at 1020 Twelve Oaks Place in Watkinsville.  There is no cost to attend, but participants are encouraged to bring a small toy donation.
  • If you missed it when it first cycled through theatres, there are chances to catch "Source Code" on the big screen this week at the University of Georgia's Tate Theatre.  Tickets are $2 each or free for UGA students with ID. Showtimes are 8 p.m. and 10 p.m.
