Top things to know:

  • The Jewish holiday Hanukkah begins at sundown and is celebrated over an eight-day period. Read more about the holiday on history.com.
  • Today is the final school day before the holiday break for Oconee County Schools. Teachers will come back on Jan. 3 and students on Jan. 4, according to Superintendent John Jackson. All offices will be closed from Dec. 22- 26 and on Jan. 2.
  • The Oconee County Chamber of Commerce holds a ribbon cutting for , located at 42 Greensboro Highway, at 10 a.m.
