Oconee Today - Aug. 30

The Islamic holiday of Eid Ul Fitr, a Malcom Bridge Middle school council meeting and Oconee County Commission agenda-setting meeting are a few of the things to know about happening in and around Oconee County today.

Weather: Partly sunny with temperatures rising to the low 90s. Expect it to be partly cloudy tonight with overnight temperatures falling into the low 70s, according to the National Weather Service.

Top Things to Know About:

  • Today is Eid Ul Fitr, a celebration Musilms hold after the month-long fasting period of Ramadan.
  • Oconee County Commissioners will convene a meeting today at 7p.m. in room 224 of the second floor of the Oconee County Courthouse, 23 North Main Street in Watkinsville. The purpose of the meeting is to set an agenda for next week's monthly meeting.
  • Malcom Bridge Middle School will hold a school council meeting tonight at 7:30 p.m. in room 101.
