Athens Oconee Audiology Shares News on Regal Cinemas' Closed-Captioning Glasses for the Deaf
The theater company plans to distribute the glasses, which will allow those who are deaf to see movies on the big screen, to more than 6,000 theaters across the country by the end of May.
A Watkinsville medical equipment business that specializes in hearing and hearing devices shared news on its Facebook page Wednesday afternoon that Regal Cinemas plans to begin offering closed-captioned glasses.
According to a post on NPR.com, the entertainment company plans to have distributed the glasses to more than 6,000 theaters across the country by the end of the month. The Sony Entertainment Access Glasses are similar to 3D glasses — captions are projected onto the glasses and appear to float about 10 feet in front of the user.
