Oconee County Chamber of Commerce Names New President

The Chamber's board of directors has announced Kay Keller will assume the duties of president July 15.

A new president has been named for the Oconee County Chamber of Commerce. 

The organization's board of directors has announced Kay Keller will replace , when J.R. Whitfield tendered his resignation with plans to pursue a new business venture.

Keller will assume duties on July 15.

“It was important to the board that we continue on a positive growth path, and we believe Kay is the right person for the job,” Jonathan King, chamber chairman, said in a news release.    

Keller has served as a volunteer in the chamber in various capacities for more than 10 years. She served on the board from 2003-05, chaired the Fall Festival committee in 2004, 2006 and 2010, and was named Chamber Volunteer of the Year in 2004.

“My vision is for the chamber to be a regional leader in innovation and economic opportunity for its businesses and its citizens,” Keller said in the release. “I appreciate the opportunity to lead the chamber and I cannot wait to get started." 

Keller is a University of Georgia graduate and has worked in sales and marketing with AirTight Insulation in Watkinsville since 2007. She was an energy services representative with Georgia Power Co. from 1999-2003, and was an operations manager/sales assistant at Interstate/Johnson Lane/ Wachovia from 1997-99.
