BankSouth to Move From Epps Bridge Parkway

The bank is searching for a new location to better serve Athens-Clarke County customers.

BankSouth will cease operations at its 455 Epps Bridge Parkway branch later this month as the bank searches for a new location to better serve Athens-Clarke County.  The leased facility was not part of a transaction when from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in February.

“The timing is right for us to make this change,” BankSouth  Chairman and CEO Harold Reynolds said in a released statement.  “It positions us to find the best and most convenient location to better serve more Athens-Clarke County residents and businesses with the best employees in the area.”

Customer accounts and employees will move to the BankSouth branch located at 7911 Macon Highway in Watkinsville on Friday, July 29 and remain there until a new location is secured, according to Reynolds.
