GoGos Salute Our Military

Thoughts of our military on this Memorial Day Weekend.

This morning I was driving down the Atlanta Highway passing Evergreen Cemetery and saw so many small American flags marking the resting places of men and women who have served our country. Because of these waving flags, I am free to drive where I want to go without the fear of a roadside bomb. Every Memorial Day reminds me of what I missed as a child - my daddy. My dad, Lt. Robert A. Finney, Jr was killed in the Korean War (war not conflict in my book) when I was a baby. (My sister was born in March and he was killed in May). Everytime I read or hear about a young military person losing their life, I think about the children they leave behind.

This Memorial Day weekend, we have our military very much in harm's way. They are serving so that we may live in a country that is free (even with all of the problems our country has). As we enjoy our cookouts, boat rides on the lake, and whatever we do to fill the weekend, we need to keep our military personnel and their families in our thoughts and prayers. We salute and appreciate you, each and every one!

Until next time...
