On October 20, 2012, I will be going to the Jennie Arnold Edwards YWCO Camp Reunion. George's Low Country Table will be our location starting at 11AM. I sure hope to see a lot of my old (not age wise LOL!) friends and get to share some warm, wonderful memories.
This camp was located on what is now Jennings Mill Road where Legacy Apartments are now. The old fireplace from the much beloved Lodge is still standing as a testament to a truly amazing camp, campers, and staff.
Every summer from 1925 to 1987, the camp gates opened to welcome campers and staff to enjoy the most fun days of their lives. Camp meant so many things to so many young women and still continues to do so in the "new" (for 25 years now) camp located in Habersham County.

I can still smell the warm pinestraw, hear the sweet voices ringing out from Shack Row and Paradise, feel the sunshine on my face while at free swim, think of Show Themes, think of ideas for Evening Programs and Vespers, the walk to the Cross on Sunday evenings, feel the hugs and encouragements from others. reaching and stretching to be more than I thought I could be and much, much more.
October 20 will bring smiles and tears to all who attend this reunion. Once again, we will be those carefree, laughing, singing girls of Y Camp - Keeping the Y Camp Spirit Alive!!!
