A free Distracted Driving and Decision Making seminar will be held at North Oconee High School this evening.

Weather: There's a 60 percent of showers, according to the Weather Channel, and highs will be in the low 60s. Expect partly cloudy skies overnight and a low of around 40 degrees.

Top things to know:

  • Every Tuesday the Rotary Club of Oconee County meets at 7 a.m. in the Watkinsville Community Center for a continental breakfast and presentation. Today's guest speaker is Tony Waller, Children First Executive Director. Guests are welcome to attend at a cost of $5 per person.
  • All are invited to play duplicate bridge at the Watkinsville Community Center every Tuesday at 1 p.m.  Cost is $4.  The group also meets on Fridays.
  • UGA Chief of Police Jimmy Williamson visits North Oconee High School for a free Distracted Driving and Decision Making seminar.  It is open to the public and begins at 7 p.m.
  • It's Spirit Night at Stevi B Pizza.  A percentage of sales will be donated to Oconee County Elementary and Oconee County Primary schools.
  • The Oconee County Board of Commissioners will recognize retired Tax Commissioner Harriette Browning at its agenda-setting meeting this evening.  It gets under way at 7 p.m. at the courthouse.  The draft of the agenda is attached as a pdf.
