Prince Avenue Christian School presents "The Diary of Anne Frank." See what else is on tap for the first day of the eleventh month of the year.

Weather: We'll see sunshine and highs in the mid 60s for the first day of November. The Weather Channel predicts lows in the low 40s overnight.

Top things to know:

  • What would you do with $5,000?  The deadline to enter Patch’s Best Halloween Costume in America Contest is 11:59 p.m. It's easy to enter. Just upload a photo of yourself or your child in a Halloween costume.
  • Wondering what to do with excess Halloween candy? The Oconee County Library hosts Candy Land -- a free craft event at 4 p.m.-- to turn that candy into unique creations.  Please register by calling the library.  The event is open for kids ages K-5.
  • Cross country teams from OCHS and NOHS compete in a region meet at East Jackson this afternoon.
  • Come see the Prince Avenue Christian School Drama Department's adaptation of "The Diary of Anne Frank."  The performance will be held in the Children's Theatre of Prince Avenue Baptist Church at 7 p.m. Tickets are $6 in advance or $10 at the door.
  • The Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra performs at 8 p.m. at UGA's Hugh Hodgson Concert Hall. Tickets range from $20-59.  See more details.
