Oconee County Senior Center celebrates Older Americans Month.

Weather: We'll see a high of 90 degrees today with partly cloudy skies. The Weather Channel predicts lows in the mid 60s overnight.

Top things to know:

  • May is designated as Older Americans Month, and there's no better time for seniors to stop by and participate in the many activities offered at the .  Today there will be Bingo at Amvets and an ice cream social will be held on Friday.  For a complete list of special activities in celebration of Older Americans Month, see the attached pdf.
  • Ladies are invited to join Holy Yoga Level 1-2 at . Classes take place at 9 a.m. on Wednesdays and the cost to attend is $5 per month.
  • Keller Williams Realty is celebrating its 4th Annual Volunteer RED Day and collecting bags of canned goods to distribute to the Northeast Georgia Food Bank. Pick up bags from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the office, located at 1361 Jennings Mill Rd, Suite 101.  Bags should be returned by May 7. .
  • It's Spirit Night at Zaxby's.  A portion of proceeds will be donated to and schools.
