Kindergarten registration, a poetry reading, and Youtube party are a few of the things to know about in and around Oconee today.

Weather: Mainly cloudy skies are in the National Weather Service forecast for today with highs expected to be in the mid 60s.

Top things to know:

  • for Oconee County Schools takes place over the next two days from 2:45-5 p.m. Parents should bring their child's birth certificate, Immunization forms, social security card and proof of residency to register.
  • Come to Ciné at 6 p.m. for a poetry reading featuring the works of David Wojahn.  It is free and open to the public.
  • The Oconee County Library hosts for teens ages 11-18 starting at 6 p.m. Popcorn and snacks will be provided.
  • Voting in round one of Wal-mart's Get It On the Shelf contest begins today.  Visit getontheshelf.com to show support for the product you'd most like to see available for purchase at Wal-mart stores.
