Oconee Today -- March 21

Today is World Poetry Day. There are also a couple of government meetings happening in Oconee.

1. Happy Monday!  Skies will be mostly sunny today, and high temperatures will be in the mid 70s, according to weather forecasts. Next chance of rain will be on Wednesday night.

2. The University of Georgia sponsors an Author's Forum at 4 p.m. in the Reading Room of the Miller Learning Center. Guests include members of the Georgia Writers Hall of Fame.

3. Today is World Poetry Day, and will hold a special event for teens in celebration.  From 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., teens ages 11-18 are invited to share poetry and .

4. A meeting of the Oconee County Planning Commission takes place tonight at 7 p.m. at the Oconee County Courthouse.  There is one item on the agenda.  See the attached PDF or visit the Planning Commission's website for more information.

5. The council of the has a monthly meeting today at 7:30 p.m.
