Oconee Today -- Feb. 24

An area book sale, blood pressure checks for seniors, and high school soccer and tennis matches are some of the events going on in and around Oconee today.

1. There will be more clouds than sun today, the weather channel predicts.  High temperatures will be in the mid to upper 60s and the low will drop only into the upper 50s.

2. The annual is taking place today from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Perimeter Square on Huntington Road in Athens.  There are thousands of books for sale, according to the library system's website.  The event is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

3. CareSouth will conduct free blood pressure checks for members of the this morning. There will also be a program about skin care.

4. Soccer and tennis dominate the local sports scene this afternoon.  hosts Elbert County tennis teams at 4 p.m. NOHS also entertains Elberton on the soccer field.  The varsity boys' game will be at 5:30 p.m. with the varsity girls' game to follow at 7:30 p.m.
