Mentor training, volleyball matches, and an open house for the GOP elections headquarters are a few of the things to know about today.

Weather: There's little chance for rain today, according to the Weather Channel.  Highs will be in the low 90s and skies will be partly cloudy.

Top things to know:

  • Make plans now to view new art exibits that will be on display at Athens Academy beginning August 20.  .
  • NOHS volleyball hosts Hart County for matches at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.  OCHS volleyball travels to Jefferson to take on Jackson County and East Jackson at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m.
  • Are you interested in becoming a mentor to a student at Oconee County Schools?  The is holding a mentor training session at 5:30 p.m. Call 706-769-4974 to register.
  • The Oconee County GOP holds an open house for its election headquarters from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.
